Standard Discharge Grille w/ Integrated Control Interface
– Discharges all air from the ceiling mounted grille
This discharge grille directs all conditioned air through the ceiling mounted grille. This grille features louvered discharge ports in both ends, an integrated control system and removable screens to filter all return air before it reenters the unit.
This discharge grille is installed by cutting the plenum sleeve we provide to the required length to span fully between the discharge port flange of the roof mounted unit and the air supply port on the grille mounting frame. The grille mounting frame is then installed to secure the unit and permits attachment of the ceiling mounted grille.
As shown with Integrated Controls, this Grille option requires no ductwork in the walls and ceiling of your room or building, and distributes all supply air from the Grille evenly to all areas of your conditioned space.
RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS
As the most frequently requested air flow configuration we offer, Bebco provides Model RAC and RHP Explosion Proof Roof Mount Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps with Standard Discharge Grilles. This Grille serves spaces with minimal heat loads, such as Security Guard Kiosks. Crane Cabs, Portable Laboratories and similar structures, that will be properly served by distributing conditioned air evenly throughout the conditioned space from one or more centrally located units.
INSTALLATION
Installation begins with the establishment of a 14 inch square roof cutout that is fully framed to seal the ceiling cavity and prevent supply or return air from entering the insulated space between the ceiling and roof. We also suggest routing suitable conduit to the return air area of the roof cutout for power and optional alarm contact wiring. The installer must first attach a supplied discharge port flange to the bottom of the unit to accept the plenum sleeve we also supply.
They must then place the unit on the roof, using the supplied roof sealing gasket and spacer, and cut the plenum sleeve to span completely from the unit’s adapter ring to the interior surface of the ceiling.
The grille mounting frame can then be installed using supplied bolts and retainers, to effectively clamp the unit to the roof and make connection with the plenum sleeve. Integrated Control Interface, power and optional alarm contact connections are next, followed by grille attachment. Diverted Discharge Grille w/ Integrated Control Interface
– Discharges air from the ceiling mounted grille and one other location
This discharge grille directs approximately 50% of the conditioned air through the ceiling mounted grille, and approximately 50% of the conditioned supply air through a diverter scoop we provide. The diverter scoop then feeds conditioned air to pre-installed ceiling duct that must be routed to penetrate the center of the rear surface of the roof cutout in the supply air plenum chamber. This grille features louvered discharge ports in both ends, an integrated control system and removable screens to filter all return air before it reenters the unit.
This discharge grille is installed utilizing a plenum sleeve we provide along with a special air diverter scoop. During installation, the scoop is inserted into your pre-installed ceiling duct.
As shown with Integrated Controls, this Grille option can supply ductwork in the walls and ceiling of your room or building, and distribute a portion of supply air from the Grille and to one other location within the space.
RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS
Bebco provides Model RAC and RHP Explosion Proof Roof Mount Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps with a Diverted Discharge Grille for spaces with modest heat loads. Such spaces include Portable Laboratories, Analyzer Shelters and Switchgear Buildings. The Diverted Discharge Grille distributes most conditioned air from one or more centrally located units, and a portion of the air supply from one or more installed units can then be routed to specific areas of the space to provide targeted spot cooling for heat generating devices or operators.
INSTALLATION
Installation begins with routing duct through the ceiling to the rear center surface of the 14 inch square roof cutout. Suitable conduit should then be routed to the return air area for power and optional alarm contact wiring. The installer must then attach a supplied discharge port flange to the bottom of the unit to accept a plenum sleeve we supply. They must then place the unit on the roof, using the supplied roof sealing gasket and spacer, and cut the plenum sleeve to span from the unit’s adapter ring to the ceiling.
A hole must then be cut in the rear surface of the plenum sleeve for a diverter scoop we supply to align with the preinstalled duct. The plenum sleeve, diverter scoop and grille mounting frame can then be installed, to clamp the unit to the roof and connect the duct to the plenum sleeve. Integrated Control Interface, power and optional alarm contact wiring connections are next, followed by grille attachment.

Variable Discharge Grille w/ Wall Mounted Control Interface
– Discharges all air from the grille or multiple locations
This Discharge Grille directs variable portions of conditioned air from the grille and/or through optional pre-installed ceiling duct. If installed, the ceiling duct must be routed to penetrate the rear or side surfaces of the roof cutout in the supply air plenum chamber. This grille features a fully adjustable discharge port on the underside surface and a removable screen to filter all return air before it reenters the unit.
This discharge grille is installed by inserting an air chamber baffle we provide that separates the air return and supply ports of the unit in the grille mounting frame and then securing the unit with the grille mounting frame. The grille mounting frame then permits attachment of the ceiling mounted grille. The installer must then route a control cable to a preferred location for the wall mounted control system.
Please note this option may be utilized without pre-installed ceiling duct, solely for the purpose of securing a wall mounted Control Interface. Please also note if ceiling duct is installed, it is advisable to include adjustable dampers in each branch of ceiling duct to attain preferred air flow to various locations within the room or building.
This Grille option can supply optional ductwork in the walls and ceiling of your room or building, to distribute portions of supply air from the grille and multiple locations within the conditioned space.
This Grille option is also required if you prefer a wall mounted control interface.
RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS
Bebco provides Model RAC and RHP Explosion Proof Roof Mount Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps with a Variable Discharge Grille for your most critical applications. The Variable Discharge Grille is also ideal for situations where a stable environment for equipment critical to refining or manufacturing process controls is extremely necessary. Typical applications include rooms or buildings with extreme heat loads, such as Wireline Units, small VFD Buildings and Analyzer Shelters containing heated chromatographs. As an optimal solution, these structures will be properly served by distributing all conditioned air to specifically targeted areas within the space to directly cool high heat generating devices and operators, to ensure their maximum efficiency.
INSTALLATION
Installation begins with routing duct through the ceiling to the rear or side center surfaces of the 14 inch square roof cutout. Dedicated conduit should also be routed to the return air area of the roof cutout from a power source and from a preferred wall mount control location. The installer must then place the unit on the roof, using the supplied roof sealing gasket and spacer, and effectively clamp the unit to the roof with the grille mounting frame with a pre-inserted air chamber baffel as shown above.
Wall mounted Control Interface and optional alarm contact wiring connections are next, followed by grille attachment. For more information regarding the Variable Discharge Grille, please contact a Bebco Sales Associate!
