Corporate History

Proudly serving our Clients since 2012

Bebco Environmental Controls Corporation is independently owned and was incorporated in 2012. However, our history of innovative product manufacturing actually extends back to 1967, upon the formation of Bebco Industries, Incorporated, which is where our CEO and key management associates began their carriers.

Spanning back over 36 years ago to 1967, B.E. (Benny) Baucom, as an instrument engineer hailing from Fayetteville Tennessee, began a company called Bebco Industries in La Marque, Texas.  The name was an acronym for the “B. E. Baucom Company”, and is now recognized worldwide.

By 1975, operations that began in two small buildings in La Marque, Texas doubled in size, as his son Mike oversaw construction of a new crane served building, and began gaining project and business management experience at an early age. Over the years, facility expansion continued to more than triple its original size.  This growth facilitated transitions from control panel manufacturing, as Bebco began offering field start-up and instrumentation engineering services and gas chromatograph column development, to turn-key integrated modular industrial instrumentation, control and switchgear building manufacturing.

Along the way, Bebco also enjoyed great success with Mike’s launch of its Enclosure Protection Systems Division in 1985 that manufactured America’s first line of purging and pressurization products.  But by 1989, the company needed much greater space.  It first acquired an office building on the Gulf Freeway, and in 2000 Benny constructed a massive 110,000 square foot shelter manufacturing facility that spans 1,000 feet in length, and vacated our original Lawndale Facility in 2004.

It was during this time that the roots of Bebco Environmental Controls Corporation began.  Bebco first entered into the hazardous location HVAC system manufacturing market by attrition, repairing air conditioners received from manufacturers we now consider competitors.  It was also at this time that Mike began working with Stacy Powell, Michelle Curry and Rian Broussard and building their experience to manage this company.

As years passed, Benny elected to first sell our EPS Division in 2003 and to eventually sell Bebco Industries in 2016, but not before offering the Environmental Control Units Division to Mike in 2012.  As part of the transaction, all production was relocated back to our beloved Lawndale Facility where it all began years ago.

While dormant for almost 8 years, our current facility has been perfectly transformed to satisfy our growing production demands.  As shown below, we’ve already installed a climate-controlled sheet metal fabrication facility, along with a metal finishing facility that features pressure washing, blasting, spray painting, powder coating, coil coating and curing oven equipment, and were now expanding inventory management and product manufacturing spaces to accommodate our growing market!
